Contact Stephanie Langlet

Hi! My name is Stephanie Langlet. I'm the French little solo traveller, writer and travel planner often featured by the Indian medias for my love and respect for the country, its people and culture.

My French readers call me "Indie", the female Indiana Jones, as I travel close to the people and culture. I can teach you how to do exactly the same thing.

But first, I'm sure you'd like to hear my story - I'll make it brief.

I've been travelling the world alone since 2004 and land for the first time on my favourite continent, Asia, in 2007.

I've spent:

¤ 4 weeks with the minorities of Northern Vietnam,

¤ stood alone in front of the Colossuses of Ramses II in Abu Simbel,

¤ celebrated the cremation of a monk leader died 6 years before with a group of Burmese monks for 3 weeks in Thailand,

¤ enjoyed a wedding party, was invited for funerals in Cambodia,

¤ travelled and experienced corruption with a famous Khmer singer and TV speaker,

¤ was invited to eat a hot dog pot in China and tarantulas in Cambodia,

¤ slept in a jungle of Kerala,

¤ danced with the men in a trance in a remote village of Java,

¤ learned the animist oral beliefs "Aluk Todolo" of the Torajan people in Sulawesi...

But the trip that really changed my life was in 2012 when I met the tribes of Bastar during the World's longest festival.

The trip in Bastar that changed my life.

I reach the Indian district of Bastar in the State of Chhattisgarh after crossing the tribal State of Odisha.

I absolutely didn't know what to expect as there were only a few lines about the area in the Lonely Planet. Even the members of my Indian forum didn't know Bastar Dussehra.

When I woke up on my first morning in Jagdalpur, I didn't know it was the first day of Navratri and the beginning of the 10 most important nights and days of the World's longest festival.

Bastar Dussehra is a 75-days long Tribal festival, involving both the Adivasis (Indian tribes) and the Maharaja.

I fell in love with the Bastar Tribal people, the kindness of the population and their incredible and fascinating culture.

They gave me so much during the three weeks I spent with them that I absolutely wanted to find a way to help them.

Some of my interviews and media coverages

It wouldn't have been possible without...

Without all these amazing people I met all around the World and the fantastic readers and friends who encourage me each day through their lovely words and support, nothing would have been possible.

Special thanks to Srinivas Pillalamarri, Sunil Panday, Awesh Ali, the Singh Thakur family, Shivesh Mishra, Shailendra Thakur, Venkatesh Birkurwar, Shakeel Rizvi, Debayan Sarkhel, Avinash Dhurve Gond.

Without their help and support, I wouldn't learn so much each day and wouldn't be able to act for the tribes and minorities.

The main projects I'm working on

I'm looking for some publications interested in covering my trips in India, Asia and the Basque Country.

As I'm specialised in the promotion of the traditional cultures, I have plenty of photos, HD videos and stories about the Tribal culture of India and the traditional festivals of the Basque people.

Contact me if you're interested in buying my materials, stories or want to hire me as a Brand Ambassador for your destination.

I would also be ready to write some books to promote the traditional festivals like Bastar Dussehra and talk about my experience through my travel diaries or conferences.

Well... I'm open to all the things that would help the promotion and preservation of the traditional cultures and festivals!

That also means that I NEED YOU to relay my messages (articles, social messages) to your network. You would make my day and would help the preservation of the traditional cultures also.

Subscribe to my newsletter to follow my projects and get updates.

I also own a guesthouse in France and have the project to provide the accommodation in a private flat of my house. My aim is to show the local Basque traditions and festivals to my guests, the English-speaking travellers visiting France. You can find all the information on my website Travels France.

Where to find me online?

Thank you for your interest, and don't hesitate to contact me if you're interested in the tribal and minority cultures.
